2010 FBT Thailand Open

We are expecting more than 200 athletes this year and are working to make sure our competition runs smoothly. All registrations should be done online. The online registration site will close on October 19th at 9pm Bangkok time.

Entry Fees are 1,900 Thai baht for both days, 1250 Thai baht for a single day. Fees are payable at weigh-in. There will be an additional charge of 600 Thai baht for walk-up registrations on the day of the competition. If you do not make weight and brackets have to be redrawn to allow you to compete, there will be an additional 600 Thai baht fee.

All paying competitors will receive a high quality, custom designed competition T Shirt. The first 100 competitors to register will also receive a custom made rash guard. Those who do not sign up among the first 100 can purchase the rash guards for 400 Thai baht at the competition.

Brown and Black Belt competitors entry fees are waived. Black and brown belt competitors may stay free at the Golden Palace Hotel on Sukumvit Soi 1 for two nights during the competition weekend.

Purple belts and above who contribute to our competition by agreeing to referee for at least 4 hours during the 2 day event will receive a 50% discount of their entry fee. Please email us if you are interested in officiating.

On Monday October 25 from 1-6pm, we will hold a special half-day Black Belt Seminar led by Bangkok BJJ's own Profesor Adam Kayoom and a second special guest Black Belt. For athletes who competed, this special Black Belt seminar will cost only 400 baht. For others who did not compete but wish to attend, the price for the seminar will be 1,000 baht per person. This Black Belt seminar is limited to 25 persons. If you wish to join, please send an email to and write BLACK BELT SEMINAR in the subject line of the email. Following the seminar beginning at 630pm, there will be an open mat session until 9pm.

TOP QUALITY PRIZES - The BJJAT has secured the support of a number of top brands and companies for the 2010 tournament. Quality BJJ kimonos will be raffled and awarded to medalists. Budovideos returns this year to support and award all the absolute division winners with $100 gift certificate (Men's white, blue, purple, brown, black & Women's white/blue).

For the first 100 competitors to register, your name will be entered into a raffle to receive a new Shoyoroll gi!!!

Trophy quality, custom-made medals will be awarded to the top three competitors in every category.

Learn to referee BJJ! On Friday October 22nd from 1 to 5pm Profesor Stephen Kamphuis and Mark Simmerman will host a free referee seminar at Bangkok BJJ Academy for a maxiumum of 20 people. This is a great opportunity to study the IBJJF rules more carefully in order to improve your performance and to contribute better officiating at regional competitions. Sunday Night After Party: On Sunday night at 8pm we will hold an after party at the Big Mango Bar on Sukumkvit Soi 4. This is a great little sports bar near the Nana Entertainment Plaza and the owners are huge MMA and grappling fans. Drink and food specials will offered to all competitors and we will have the upstairs floor and wide screen TVs exclusively for our party. That night UFC 121: Lesnar versus Velasquez will be shown. Plan on joining us!
